Bit-Wizards Sponsors the 2010 USET Scholarship Fund Semi-Annual Meeting and Charity Golf Tournament

Bit-Wizards, an innovative technology company providing real world business solutions for a diverse range of industries, was a proud sponsor and participant of the United South and Eastern Tribes Incorporated (USET) Scholarship Fund Semi-Annual Meeting and Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament was held on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Timber Creek Golf Club in Mobile, Alabama and sponsored by the Porch Band of Creek Indians.

Bit-Wizards CEO and Senior Software Engineer, Vincent Mayfield, and Vice President of Software Engineering, Kevin Grohoske, took to the course on a unseasonably, hot Sunday afternoon to benefit their scholarship fund. Despite the heat, everyone managed to have a great time playing one of Mobile's more casual courses. Timber Creek is known as  one of those golf courses where the wind always seems to be at your back and all your tee shots are downhill. That's because it was designed by Earl Stone, a Mobile resident, who always kept mere mortals in mind rather than touring pros when laying out his tracks. Instead of the "hard par, easy bogey" some architects favor, Stone gives you a chance and helps you out along the way.

The general ease of the course coupled with an inviting atmosphere set forth by the Porch Creek Indians made the day even more enjoyable, helping the tribe raise more the $30,000 in scholarships. 100% of the proceeds from the two person scramble goes to benefit the USET Scholarship Fund, providing supplemental scholarships in the amount of $500 to Indian students in the USET service area.

United South and Eastern Tribes Incorporated (USET) is dedicated to promoting Indian leadership, improving the quality of life for American Indians, and protecting Indian rights and resources on Tribal lands. Although its guiding principle is unity, USET plays a major role in the self-determination of all member Tribes by working to improve the capabilities of Tribal governments. Established in 1969, United South and Eastern Tribes Inc., is a non-profit, intertribal organization that collectively represents its member Tribes at the regional and national level.
