The
SQL Saturday events are held all across the country to provide training and networking opportunities, feature local presenters, and help build local user group memberships. The events feature local speakers, providing a good variety of topics, and making it all happen through the efforts of volunteers.
As a SQL Saturday Gold Sponsor, the experts at Bit-Wizards offered multiple different sessions throughout the day. Bit-Wizards’ President and CEO, Vincent Mayfield, gave an overview and introduction into the next generation of media and rich interactive applications, delivered by Microsoft® Silverlight™. In an afternoon session, Vince shared his experience in building scalable ASP.NET applications and their importance to an internet-dependant world. Kevin Grohoske, Bit-Wizards’ Vice President of Software Engineering, gave a review of the spatial capabilities, objects, and complimentary Bing services available with SQL Server 2008. Our Certified Kentico Trainer and Senior Software Engineer, Bryan Soltis, gave a glimpse into the world of Kentico CMS Content Management system, a powerful, robust .NET platform for delivering dynamic, content-driven sites.

There was a terrific turnout for the event this year, a total of 224 attendees! For those of you who were not able to make it or just want a refresher on some of the topics covered, the sessions will be available from the schedule page, just go to
www.sqlsaturday.com, and select View All Events to get to #22 Pensacola.
