The SQL Saturday events are held all across the country to provide training and networking opportunities, feature local presenters, and help build local user group memberships. The events feature local speakers, providing a good variety of topics, and making it all happen through the efforts of volunteers.
Bit-Wizards, a leader in the southeast SQL community, was a Gold Sponsor of the SQL Saturday Birmingham. "We were happy to support an event that helps promote education on the technology," said Bit-Wizards VP, Louis Erickson. In addition to sponsoring the event, Bit-Wizards provided two guest speakers.
SQL Saturday actually began Friday night with the speaker’s dinner which allowed networking with industry leaders in SQL Server. Bit-Wizards attended the Speakers dinner and enjoyed a great evening of “tekie talk”. Saturday morning the event kicked off with 264 event attendees. Bit-Wizards was busy at their booth answering questions and participating in give away games. The Bit-Wizards team was very busy manning the booth, attending various presentations, or giving presentations. The sessions were diverse and there was a lot choose from.
A day of great speakers and topics was topped off with a perfect end by means of a social at the Tilted Kilt. TekSouth arranged this year's event, with the help of John Baldwin and Morgan Smith, making for a well organized SQL Saturday.
